An Emerging Supplier of Gallium Oxide Epiwafe in Germany

Berlin, Germany, NextGO Epi was officially established as a large-scale manufacturing company specializing in high-quality β-Ga₂O₃ (Gallium Oxide) epitaxial wafer, aiming to provide critical materials for high-power and photoelectric detection applications. NextGO Epi is an incubated enterprise of the Leibniz-Institut für Kristallzüchtung (IKZ) in Germany, co-founded in 2025 by Dr. Ta-Shun Chou, Dr. Andreas Popp, and Dr. Andreas Fiedler.

NextGO Epi employs metal-organic chemical vapor phase (MOVPE) technology. It is committed to providing Gallium Oxide-based epitaxial wafers with significant cost and performance advantages for critical fields such as electric vehicles, rail transit systems, and renewable energy infrastructure. With the rapid growth in global demand for efficient energy management solutions, the company will become a leading international supplier of Gallium Oxide epitaxial wafers, helping customers achieve more efficient, high-power devices and reduce energy consumption. It is expected that 2-inch to 4-inch epitaxial wafers will be supplied externally in the second half of the year.

The long-term vision of NextGO Epi is to promote the widespread application of Gallium Oxide in power electronics through cooperation with industry-leading enterprises such as Infineon, Hitachi Energy, ZF, Bosch, and Nexperia, and to become an innovative leader in global Gallium Oxide epitaxial technology. In addition, the company is actively involved in building the European semiconductor ecosystem, making full use of the abundant research resources and talent in the Berlin area to strengthen the resilience of the European semiconductor supply chain. As a provider of epitaxial wafers, NextGO Epi actively engages in strategic cooperation with global substrate suppliers. Currently, it has established strategic cooperative relationships with Hangzhou GAREN SEMI and NCT to promote the development of gallium oxide-based materials jointly.

Dr. Ta-Shun Chou, the founder and CEO of the company, said, "The original intention of our establishment of NextGO Epi was to promote the sustainable development of the power electronics industry through cutting-edge Gallium Oxide epitaxial technology. Only when sufficient, high-quality epitaxial wafers are available on the market can the maturity and reliability of Gallium Oxide devices be guaranteed. We also actively collaborate with leading domestic manufacturers to promote the industrialization of Gallium Oxide. "
